YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.  |  The Purple team defeated the White team 69-66 in the annual Purple/White Young Harris College women's basketball scrimmage Thursday (Oct. 31) evening at the YHC Basketball Arena. 

Carly Winters and McKenna Lentych each tallied 15 points for the Purple team after connecting on five three-pointers. Kalen Surles totaled 10 points and seven rebounds, while Haylie Shope had nine points and grabbed 11 rebounds. 

Sarah Woghiren led the White team with 28 points as she went 10-of-19 from the floor. Samantha Russell had 12 points, while Niaya White totaled nine points and seven rebounds. 

The Mountain Lions open up the 2019-20 campaign in Franklin Springs, Georgia, Nov. 8 afternoon with a 2 p.m. contest against Lees-McRae College.
