GAFFNEY, S.C. | Limestone College got two second half goals to defeat No. 16 Young Harris College 2-0 in a non-conference men's soccer match at Saints Field.
The Saints, who defeated Young Harris for the first time in eight tries, improved to 3-5-0, while the Mountain Lions fell to 5-2-0. Young Harris will open up Peach Belt Conference action Saturday (Oct. 5) with a 7 p.m. contest against the University of South Carolina-Aiken at the Pacer Pit in Aiken, South Carolina.
Tristyn de Laaf scored the opening goal in the 60th minute for Limestone before Lee Murray added an insurance goal eight minutes later to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.Â
Young Harris outshot Limestone 7-5, but the Saints held a 5-1 edge in shots on goal. Limestones held a 3-1 margin on corner kicks. Clement Anet picked up a save with the shutout for the Saints, while
Alex Iglesias had three stops for the Mountain Lions.
