GREENEVILLE, Tenn. | Tusculum College defeated Young Harris College 6-3 in a non-conference women's tennis match Friday (March 16) afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The No. 21 Pioneers improved to 12-0, while the Mountain Lions, who are ranked eighth regionally, fell to 9-4. Young Harris returns to action Monday (March 19) at noon when they host Georgia Southwestern State University in a noon Peach Belt Conference match at the Bob and Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
Laura Sanchez and
Elin Rundcrantz earned a point for the Mountain Lions as they recorded an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles. Sanchez and
Maria Puerta also earned wins in singles for Young Harris. Sanchez won a tough three-set match at No. 4, while Puerta won a pro-set contest at No. 6.
