GREENEVILLE, Tenn. | Tusculum College won the final three singles matches to claim a 5-4 non-conference men's tennis victory over Young Harris College Friday (March 16) afternoon at the Nichols Tennis Complex.
The Pioneers improved to 9-4, while the Mountain Lions fell to 8-5. Young Harris will host Georgia Southwestern State University Monday (March 19) in a noon Peach Belt Conference match at the Bob & Gayle Nichols Tennis Complex.
Young Harris jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles as the Mountain Lions got wins from
Mateo Besada and
Tim Fleerkamp at No. 2 doubles and
Ignacio Ascarrunz and
Javier Villar at No. 3 doubles.Â
The Mountain Lions pushed their lead to 4-2 after Villar and
Guilherme Sergio got wins at No. 4 and No. 2 singles, respectively. However, Tusculum rallied to win the last three singles matches to claim the win.
