HICKORY, N.C. | Young Harris College fell to Lenoir-Rhyne University 101-72 in a non-conference men's basketball game Friday (Nov. 9) evening at Shurford Gym.
The Bears improved to 1-0 on the season, while the Mountain Lions fell to 0-1. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Nov. 10) in Hickory, North Carolina, at 7:30 p.m. against No. 7 Queens (N.C.) at Shurford Gym.
The Bears opened the game on a 14-0 run over the first 2:53, before ending the half up 57-31.
Lenoir-Rhyne outscored the Mountain Lions 44-41 in the second half.
Cory Thomas led the way for the Bears with 24 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Filip Leskovar tallied 10 points and three rebounds, while Deontae Weaver and Djibril Diallo had nine points apiece.
Brian Harper and
J.J. Flores each picked up 14 points for Young Harris, while
Justin Jones and
Zion Williams had 12 points apiece.
