YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College men's soccer team defeated Southern Wesleyan University 5-0 Saturday (Sept. 2) evening in a non-confrerence match at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Mountain Lions improved to 2-0-0 on the season while the Warriors fell to 0-2-0. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 6) as they host No. 23 Tusculum College at 7 p.m.

Young Harris jumped to an early lead in the 13th minute off a goal by
Marco Micaletto with an assist by
Carl Brannstrom on a throw in from the right side. It was Micaletto's second goal of 2017.
Dani Fischer added the second goal of the game five minutes later from 15 yards out off an assist by
Alex Jacq.
Seba Andreassen added to the Mountain Lion lead with an unassisted goal at the 24:02 mark as he followed his missed shot for his second strike of the season.
In the 26th minute,
Mikie Rowe took the ball down field after a turnover to beat the keeper to bring the score to 4-0.
Ali Arafa closed out the scoring in the 89th minute on a chip shot on the left side from 20 yards out off an assist by
Charis Karipidis.

Alex Iglesias stopped five shots in goal for Young Harris as he picked up his second consecutive shut out for the Mountain Lions, while Miguel Uribe stopped three shots for the Warriors. Young Harris held a 21-7 advantage on shots and a 5-2 edge on corner kicks.
