HARROGATE, Tenn. | Baylee Roche's goal midway through the second half was the difference as Young Harris College shut out Lincoln Memorial University 1-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match Sunday (Sept. 10) afternoon at the LMU Soccer Complex.
The Mountain Lions improved to 2-2-0, while the Railsplitters absorbed their first loss and fell to 3-1-0. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Sept. 16) when they open its Peach Belt Conference schedule with a 5 p.m. match against Flagler College at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
Roche's goal at the 71:18 mark on a long shot off a quick pass from 
Maria Guzman. It was Roche's first goal of 2017.
Young Harris held an 11-10 advantage on shots, while the each team had four corner kicks apiece. 
Nicole Medeiros had six saves in goal for the Mountain Lions as she notched her second clean sheet of the season, while Brooke Taylor also corralled six for the Railsplitters.
