CHARLOTTE, N.C. | Alana Jefferson scored three goals to lead Queens University of Charlotte as they defeatedthe Young Harris College women's soccer team in the season opener for both teams Thursday (Aug. 31) evening at Dickson Field.
Queens (N.C.) improved to 1-0 while Young Harris fell to 0-1. The Mountain Lions are back in action Sunday (Sept. 3) for their home opener at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field against Auburn University at Montgomery in a 5 p.m. contest.
Ansley Garrison scored the lone goal for the Mountain Lions in the 40th minute off a pass in the box by
Elin Pedersen.
The Royals scored three unanswered goals in the second half to secure the victory.
Nicole Medeiros picked up eight saves in goal for Young Harris and Rachel Quest had one save for the Royals.
