CLEVELAND, Tenn. | Lee University scored all 11 of its runs in the first four innings as the Flames defeated Young Harris College 11-3 in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday (April 12) evening at Olympic Field.
The Flames improved to 22-18, while the Mountain Lions fell to 13-24. Young Harris returns to Zell B. Miller Field Friday (April 14) when they open up a three-game Peach Belt Conference series against the University of Montevallo with a 5 p.m. contest.
Lee scored four runs in both the first and third innings and added two runs in the second and one more in the fourth to take an 11-0 lead. Young Harris scored twice in the sixth on
Rudy Gaona's single to right-center field and added one more run in the ninth on
Jackson Jones' double to left-center field.
Wes Albert (5-2) earned the win for the Flames, allowing just two hits and striking out five over five innings.
Daniel McKee (0-1) took the loss for the Mountain Lions.
YHC had eight hits in the game with
Zach Odom and Gaona leading the way with two hits apiece.
