YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Behind home runs from
Luke Miller and
Brett Westmoreland, Young Harris College defeated Anderson (S.C.) University Tuesday (March 21) afternoon at Zell B. Miller Field.
The game was called after six innings after a 70-minute lightning and rain delay.
Young Harris improved to 9-14, while the Trojans fell to 8-20. The Mountain Lions return to action Wednesday (March 22) on the road against Southern Wesleyan University at 6 p.m. in Central, South Carolina.

The Trojans struck first in the second inning but the Mountain Lions took the lead in the bottom half of the second off a Westmoreland two-run homer, his third of the season. Miller added to the Young Harris lead with a two-run homer of his own, his second of the season, an inning later. Anderson scored three in the top of the sixth, off of two RBI doubles. Young Harris scored in each of the last three innings.

Young Harris had 14 hits with each started in the lineup getting at least one.
Nick Sexton and
Jackson Jones led with three hits, while
Adrik Yacelga collected two.

Westmoreland and Miller finished with two RBI while
Zach Odom, Sexton,
Rudy Gaona,
Tyler Washington and Yacelga drove in one run apiece.

Conor Casey (1-0) picked up his first win of the season scattering two hits, allowing one earned run and striking out three in five innings.

Thomas Smith (0-4) earned the lost for the Trojans allowing four runs on eight hits over 2 2/3 innings.
