"What a game
Sara Jorgensen and
Ashlyn Ellison had, those two were tremendous," said YHC head coach
Matt Stearsman. "I thought our pressure and mixing up our defense in the fourth quarter kept them off balance. UNCP shoots the ball very well, but I felt like our pressure wore them down and they were 1-of-8 from three (-point range) in the fourth quarter, and that one banked in. Without
Eryn Cochran today we had the next lady up mentality and collectively we got a win. Very proud of our effort."
Jorgensen, who was 6-of-8 from long distance, led the Mountain Lions, who tied a college record with 10 three-pointers as a team, with 20 points, two rebounds, and four assists. Ellison added 15 points, three rebounds and one steal. Robinson added 13 points, five rebounds, and one steal. Bell also scored seven points and added five assists for Young Harris.Garner pulled down a team-high six rebounds.
Horne scored 16 points for the Braves and grabbed eight rebounds. Aliyah Farmer picked up a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
