No. 16 Cougars defeat Mountain Lions

COLUMBUS, Ga.  |  Olivia Jarrell scored twice as No. 16 Columbus State University defeated Young Harris College 6-1 in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Wednesday (Oct. 11) evening at the Walden Soccer Complex.

The Cougars improved to 9-1-0 overall and 6-1-0 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-3-1 and 3-1-1. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Oct. 14) as they host Lander University in a 5 p.m. PBC contest.

Columbus State took control of the match as they scored four unanswered goals in an 11-minute span midway through the first half.

Lucero Robayo scored the lone goal for the Mountain Lions in the 34th minute. Robayo scored her fifth goal of the year when she sent in a long shot over the top of the Columbus State goalkeeper.

Nicole Medeiros had 11 saves in goal for Young Harris. Bria Riancho picked up three saves in the win for the Cougars.
