YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Mountain Lions defeated Cedarville University 5-3 in a non-conference baseball game Wednesday (March 2) at Zell B. Miller Field.

The Mountain Lions snapped their eight-game losing streak as they improved to 5-9 while the Yellow Jackets fell to 0-1. Young Harris travels to Augusta, Georgia, Friday (March 4) for a 6 p.m. Peach Belt Conference game against Augusta University.

Young Harris tied the game at 3 with an unearned run in the sixth.
Brett Westmoreland started the inning by reach on a throwing error and later scored on a balk.

Chris McGinnis started the YHC rally with one out in the eighth by being hit by a pitch and
Triston Smith followed with a walk issued Cedarville reliever Jordan Ralston (0-1). Â Pinch hitter
Troy Kizer followed with a double down the right field line that scored McGinnis to give the Mountain Lions a 4-3 lead. YHC added an insurance run on
Zach Odom's sac fly to right.

Young Harris had taken a 2-0 lead on Odom's two-run double down the left field line in the second inning.
