YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | McKenna Rushton scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Georgia College defeated Young Harris College 65-46 in a Peach Belt Conference women's basketball victory Thursday (Feb. 11) evening at the YHC Basketball Arena.

The Bobcats improved 16-8 overall and to 8-7 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 9-13 and 4-11. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Feb. 13) when they face Columbus State University in a 1:30 p.m. game in Columbus, Georgia.

Rushton shot 9-of-13 from the field, including 7-of-9 from three-point range, in the game. Rushton connected on all four of her three-point attempts and scored 14 points in the first quarter as the Bobcats opened up a 24-8 lead.

Kadesha Gibbs and LaRice Walker added 10 points each for the Bobcats, which hit 10-of-19 shots from long range (52.6 percent).

Briana Bell led the Mountain Lions, who only hit 24.5 percent (13-of-53) of their shots from the field, with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Jenny Vernet added 11 points and six rebounds,
Keta Robinette tossed in nine points while
Sarah Garner grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
