Montevallo rallies for 52-48 OT win over Mountain Lions

MONTEVALLO, Ala. | The University of Montevallo scored five unanswered points midway through overtime as the Falcons rallied for a 52-48 Peach Belt Conference women's basketball victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (Jan. 13) evening at Trustmark Arena.

The Falcons improved to 5-9 overall and to 2-5 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions slipped to 7-7 and 2-5. Young Harris will host Francis Marion University in a 1:30 p.m. league contest Saturday (Jan. 16) at the YHC Basketball Arena.

Montevallo forced the extra period by scoring the final five points of the fourth quarter, culminated by D'Miyah Foster's jumper with 51 seconds remaining, to tie the game at 40. Foster gave the Falcons a 42-40 lead they would never relinquish 57 seconds into overtime on a layup.

The Mountain Lions tied the game for the ninth and final time at 44 on Meredith Tarver's layup with 2:23 left.
