YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | A penalty kick with just over 12 minutes remaining was the difference as the No. 4 University of North Georgia held off a stubborn Young Harris College team in a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match between the two cross-mountain rivals Saturday (Sept. 19) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The No. 4-ranked Nighthawks improved to 5-0-0 overall and to 1-0-0 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-2-0 and 0-1-0. Young Harris returns to action Wednesday (Sept. 23) when they travel to Aiken, South Carolina, for a 3:30 p.m. PBC conference against the University of South Carolina Aiken.

Young Harris kept North Georgia at bay as Mountain Lion goalkeeper
Arielle Charles turned away 10 Nighthawk shots. However, North Georgia was awarded a penalty kick at the 77:53 mark after the Mountain Lions fouled in the box. Jade Pennock scored her second goal of the season on the PK.
