DEMOREST, Ga. – Jayden Campbell led Young Harris College with four goals as the Mountain Lions defeated Piedmont College 13-10 Wednesday (April 8) evening at the Walker Athletics Complex.
The Mountain Lions won their fifth consecutive game as they improved to 8-5 while the Lions fell to 4-10. Young Harris travels to Waleska, Georgia, for a 3 p.m. contest against Reinhardt University.
After Piedmont pulled to within a goal at 7-6 33 seconds into the second half, Young Harris scored four of the next five goals to open up an 11-7 advantage after a Billy Magill goal with 9:36 remaining in the fourth quarter,
Magill added three goals for Young Harris along with Chandler Bradley while Matt Spadafora had two and Mitch McDole added one more. Bradley, Michael Gernatt, Ian Hurley and Magill each tallied an assist.
Zac Barrett won 14 face-offs for the Mountain Lions. Barrett and McDole led YHC with five ground balls while Campbell scooped up four.
Sean Dever registered seven saves in between the pipes for Young Harris.
