Win streak moves to six with 9-6 victory over Reinhardt

WALESKA, Ga. – Young Harris scored four third quarter goals as the Mountain Lions recorded their sixth consecutive win with a 9-6 men's lacrosse decision over Reinhardt University Saturday (April 11) afternoon at Ken White Field.

The Mountain Lions improved to 9-5 overall. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 18) when they host Shorter University in a 7 p.m. game at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

With the game tied at 3 at the half, Billy Magill scored four minutes into the third quarter to give the Mountain Lions the lead for good at 4-3. Michael Gernatt added another score before the Eagles got one back with 1:45 remaining in the third quarter to pull within 5-4. Young Harris responded by scoring four unanswered goals – two from Jayden Campbell and one each from Michael Holder and Mitch McDole – to open up a 9-4 lead with 8:49 left in the match.

Magill led YHC with three goals while Campbell and McDole found the back of the net twice. Michael Gernatt and Holder each added one goal while Joe Appolonia, Gernatt and Magill added an assist.

Zac Barrett won 10 face-offs for the Mountain Lions. Barrett and Zach Hemans each scooped up three ground balls for YHC while Sean Dever added eight saves in net.
