CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Nathan Wierzgac went 5-for-5 and drove in four runs as Lee University picked up a 15-1 non-conference baseball decision over Young Harris College Wednesday (April 1) at Olympic Field.
The Flames improved to 19-12-1 while the Mountain Lions slipped to 10-22. Young Harris returns to Zell B. Miller Field for a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader against Middle Georgia State College Friday (April 3).
Young Harris got its lone run in the fifth. Troy Kizer led off the inning with a single up the middle and moved over to third on Jared Campbell's double to left field. Kizer later score on a Tyler Washington ground out.
Jimmy Pinakidis, Nick Sexton, Michael Livingston and Washington also picked up a hit apiece for the Mountain Lions.
Cole Amtmann (1-5) took the loss for Young Harris while Carlos Ditren (1-0) earned the win in relief for the Flames.
