YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Jeff Rivait and Billy Magill each scored twice for Young Harris College, but it wasn't enough as Wheeling Jesuit University defeated the Mountain Lions 17-6 in a men's lacrosse match Friday (March 6) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The No. 13-ranked Cardinals improved to 3-1 while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-3. Young Harris will travel to Macon, Georgia, Sunday (March 8) for 5 p.m. contest against Drew University.
Wheeling Jesuit jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the half as Matt Lee scored five of his six goals in the opening 30 minutes.
Mitch McDole and Chandler Bradley each found the back of the net once for Young Harris while Michael Gernatt had four assists. Zac Barrett had six face-off wins for YHC while Zach Hemans and Stephen Jordan accounted for four ground balls apiece.
Goalies Sean Dever (15) and Ryan Pickowitz (four) combined to stop 19 shots between the pipes for the Mountain Lions.
