Young Harris rallies for 10-8 decision over Lions

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – Young Harris College scored four unanswered goals late in the third and fourth quarters to rally for a 10-8 men's lacrosse victory over Emmanuel (Ga.) College Saturday (March 28) afternoon.

The Mountain Lions won their third consecutive match as they improved to 6-5 while the Lions fell to 2-7. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (April 4) with a 3 p.m. contest against North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina.

A goal by Shawn Sagraves gave Emmanuel at 6-5 with 7:32 remaining in the third quarter. Mitch McDole took a pass from Billy Magill at the 3:52 mark to tie the game at 6 for the Mountain Lions. That goal was the first of four straight goals over the next five minutes for Young Harris as they opened up a 9-6 advantage. Matt Spadafora's goal off a Jayden Campbell assist 41 seconds gave YHC the lead at 7-6. Campbell and Magill also found the back of the net for the Mountain Lions during that stretch.

Magill and McDole led Young Harris with two goals each while Chandler Bradley, Mason McBroom, Michael Holder and Ian Hurley also registered goals.

Ryan Pickowitz and Sean Dever each registered six saves for the Mountain Lions in goal.
