GREENWOOD, S.C. – Lander University swept a Peach Belt Conference baseball doubleheader from Young Harris College Saturday (Feb. 28) afternoon at Dolny Stadium.
The Bearcats took the opener 13-2 before Kyle Boraski tossed a no-hitter as Lander won the nightcap 10-0.
Lander improved 8-8 overall and to 3-6 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-10 and 3-6. Young Harris returns to action Tuesday (March 3) when they travel to Greeneville, Tennessee, for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference contest.
Young Harris got RBI singles from Spencer Thomas and Logan Bell in the eighth inning in the opener.
Chris Hyatt drove in four runs for Lander while Alex Conaway had three RBI.
Brandon White (2-0) earned the win for the Bearcats with eight strikeouts while
Donald Frew (0-3) took the loss.
Boraski (2-1) struck out eight in the complete-game effort while Nick Sexton (0-1) took the loss.
