YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Young Harris College and Nova Southeastern University battled to a scoreless draw in double overtime in a men's soccer match Thursday (Sept. 4) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
It was the season opener for both the 11th-ranked Mountain Lions and Sharks. Young Harris will return to action Sunday (Sept. 7) at 1 p.m. when they host Barry University.
Young Harris held a 12-6 advantage in shots, include a 9-4 edge in the second half and the two overtime periods.
The Mountain Lions, who had a 15-4 advantage in corner kicks, had the best opportunity to win the match 57 seconds into the first overtime when Lewis Hilton blasted a shot from the top of the box that hit the crossbar.
Young Harris' Jordan Bradshaw and Nova Southeastern's Andrea Giombetti each collected three saves apiece in the draw.
