ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Cassie Fernandez's header in the 20th minute gave Flagler College a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer shutout over Young Harris College Saturday (Sept. 28) evening at Saints Field.

The Saints improved to 4-4-0 overall and to 1-1-0 in the Peach Belt while the Mountain Lions fell to 2-5-0 and to 0-3-0. Young Harris returns to action when they host Carson-Newman University in a 2 p.m. non-conference match Wednesday (Oct. 2).

Fernandez's fifth goal of 2013 was on a set piece off a corner kick from teammate Haley Powers. Fernandez's strike came from 11 yards out and went just inside the left post.

Flagler held an 18-11 advantage on shots. Young Harris goalkeeper Taylor Erickson recorded nine saves while Kaeta Choquette had three for the Saints.
