YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – Georgia College scored in the second minute and made it stand as the Bobcats took a 1-0 Peach Belt Conference women's soccer victory over Young Harris College Wednesday (Oct. 9) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

The Bobcats improved to 5-5-1 overall and to 2-3-1 in the league while Young Harris fell to 3-7-0 and to 0-5-0. The Mountain Lions absorbed their fourth one-goal loss in league play this season. Young Harris returns to action Saturday (Oct. 12) when they travel to Savannah, Ga., for a 1p.m. league match against No. 16 Armstrong Atlantic State University.

The Bobcats scored the match's lone goal at the 1:04 mark when Kacey McInerney collected a loose ball in the box and knocked it into the right corner of the net from 10 yards out.

Young Harris' goalkeeper tandem of Taylor Erickson (five) and Yustin Nambo (eight) combined to stop 13 shots by Georgia College while Annie Stephens had three saves for the Bobcats.
