GAINESVILLE, Ga. – Mika Lopes scored in the second half off a corner kick to lift the Young Harris College women’s soccer team to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Brenau University on Thursday night.

The Mountain Lions improved to 4-3-1 with the win as Allie Matulia recorded four saves.

Young Harris out-shot the Golden Tigers, 17-6, and had a 5-2 advantage on corner kicks.

Lisa Lesnick finished with eight saves in goal for Brenau (1-6-1).

Young Harris returns to action 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3 at Berry College.
