Nancy Murgor has been named the Female Mountain Lion of the Week ending Oct. 25.
Murgor claimed the 6K Peach Belt Conference Championship race on the UNG Cross Country Course for the Mountain Lions, a first in the program's history. Young Harris finished in fifth with 141 points, surpassing its sixth-place effort in 2012.Â

With less than 400 yards to go, both runners began a small incline and Murgor found an extra gear, swinging around Nelson and taking the final two turns at a near full sprint. Â The freshman from Iten, Kenya, won the title in a time of 22:12.5. Murgor, who was also named to the All-PBC team and the conference's Freshman of the Year. Â It is the third straight year a freshman has won the PBC individual title.
