Nancy Murgor has been named the Female Mountain Lion of the Week ending Oct. 11.
Murgor, who was named the Peach Belt Conference AstroTurf Runner of the Week for the third time in 2015, continued her fantastic 2015-16 season with her first victory of the year at the Division II Georgia Collegiate Championships in Milledgeville, Georgia.
The freshman from Iten, Kenya, posted a personal best time of 22:28.7 in the 6k, finishing 30 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor and more than 40 seconds ahead of the next PBC runner. Murgor's time is the third-fastest 6k run in the PBC this year and her win is the first for a YHC runner in two years. Murgor, who has finished in the top three in every race she has run this year, helped the Mountain Lions to a second-place finish in the 10-team event.
