Jessie Homesley finished her fifth season season as head coach for the Young Harris College softball program. Young Harris secured a overall record of 22-23. The Mountain Lions earned a spot in the Conference Carolinas Championship, falling 2-1 in round one, in a tight battle. Four YH Softball players earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference team. With Avery Fielden earning first team honors. Grace Young made the D2CCA All-Southeast Region Team. Shelby Duncan and Gracie Hughes were named to the CSC Softball Academic All-District Team.
In 2024, coach Homesley led the Mountain Lions into Conference Carolinas play and an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Championship, where they played three games. Young Harris finished the season with an overall record of 29-24 and a conference record of 15-9. Under Homesley’s leadership, Grace Young (First Team), Gracie Hughes (Second Team), and Addie Heal (All-Defensive Team) earned Conference Carolinas All-Conference nods.
Homesley led the Mountain Lions to 19 wins last season. YHC had two players named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team in 2023.
Homesley led Young Harris to a 23-21 record last season and finished in fifth place in the Peach Belt. YHC has three players named to the All-Peach Belt team and had five players selected as a Player of the Week in the Peach Belt in 2022. Thirteen players were named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Team.
Homesley led the Mountain Lions to a 34-12 record in 2021 as Young Harris advanced to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional for the fifth consecutive time. The Mountain Lions, who finished in second place in the Peach Belt, was ranked as high as No. 5 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division II Coaches Poll before finishing the season 16th. YHC had seven players named to the All-Peach Belt Conference team, while four were selected to the NFCA All-Southeast Region team.
Homesley came to the Enchanted Valley after spending two seasons as head coach at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, Tennessee.
Prior to Christian Brothers, Homesley spent five seasons at Shorter University in Rome, Georgia. She led the Hawks to a 28-23 record and was ranked as high as No. 7 in the South Region in 2017—her first as the program's head coach.
Homesley brings extensive experience competing at the highest levels of NCAA Division II. Her four years as an assistant coach at Shorter saw the program amass an 87-37 record, while winning the 2014 Gulf South Conference regular season, 2015 GSC tournament, 2015 NCAA Division II South Region, and the 2014 National Christian College Athletic Association national championships. The 2015 squad finished 43-17 and placed third at the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship. She coached 11 All-Americans, 12 National Fastpitch Coaches Association scholar athletes, a GSC Freshman of the Year and a GSC Player of the Year.
Homesley is a graduate of Furman University where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and played infield for the NCAA Division I Paladins. She earned all-conference honors as a shortstop her junior year and as a third baseman her senior year. She received a master's degree in leadership from Shorter.
Homesley is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
