Jared Sandler

Jared Sandler begins his 12th year as the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine for Young Harris College. In August 2020 Sandler was promoted to assistant director of athletics for sports medicine and to associate director of athletics for sports medicine in July 2023.

In just his first season at Young Harris, the Peach Belt Conference recognized Sandler along with his staff as the league's Athletic Training Staff of the Year in 2014-15.

Sandler and his staff were recognized by the Peach Belt as the Dissinger Reed Athletic Training Staff of the Year in 2016-17, 2018-19 and 2019-20. He and his staff also shared the award with the league's other schools in 2020-21.

Sandler served as president of the Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association from 2021-23 after serving two years as the vice president. Sandler is also the Georgia representative on the College/University Athletic Trainers Committee for the Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association.

Sandler came to the Enchanted Valley after spending nine years at fellow Peach Belt institution Columbus State University.  Sandler was the head athletic trainer for the Cougars for  three seasons. In the previous six years, Sandler was the top assistant athletic trainer and prior to that a graduate assistant at CSU.  In his nine years at CSU, Sandler provided coverage for all varsity sports. 

Along with his staff, Sandler and the Cougar sports medicine office were named the Peach Belt’s Athletic Training Staff of the Year twice (2013-14, 2011-12). He was also a part of the 2010-11 PBC Athletic Training Staff of the Year. 

Along with his responsibilities to school and athletic training, Jared is an active member in a wide array of professional organizations including: National Athletic Trainers' Association, Georgia Athletic Trainers' Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers' Association, Professional Football Athletic Trainers' Society, and Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers' Society. He is currently the North Georgia regional representative for the GATA.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Sandler received his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of South Florida in 2005 and his master's degree in education at CSU two years later. 

Sandler and his wife Tamara have two children: Coltyn Tyler and Paisley Grace.
