Matt Logan began his second season as the head coach for the Young Harris College men's and women's cross country programs, and embarked on his first season with the men's and women's track and field teams under his belt. During their inaugural season, Logan led the men's track & field team to a 10th place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The women's squad improved all season long in year one. Ryland Hunley earned Freshman of the Month honors in February and was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference team at the end of the season. Brynley Walraven stood out all season long on the women's track & field side.

To kick off 2024, Logan announced that there would be a record-breaking cross country class with 22 new athletes. The women's cross country team placed third at the 2nd Annual Young Harris Opener in September and also posted a top 10 finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship in October. At the 2nd Annuel Young Harris Opener, the men's team took second place. Runners Emily Baars and Austin Sullivan were honored as Conference Carolinas Men's and Women's Runners of the Week in October. The men finished 6th in the Conference Carolinas Championship. Lastly, Liam King earned the prestigious Elite 23 award for the second straight year. 

In 2023, the men's and women's cross cross country teams competed in 6 events. One of these was the YHC Cross Country Invitational put on by Logan, which was the very first hosted cross country event at Young Harris. Luke Surowiec was named PBC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year and was put on the CSC Academic All-American Third Team. YHC had five student-athletes (Dylan DiCicco, Hayden Durrett, Liam King, Thomas Mellendorf, and Luke Surowiec named to the DII Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Team. In late November, Logan and the YH Athletic Department announced the addition of men's and women's track and field programs.

Logan comes to the Enchanted Valley after serving as the director of men's and women's track and field/cross country at Averett University in Danville, Virginia, in 2022.

Prior to Averett, Logan served as an assistant men's and women's track and field/cross country coach in spring 2022 at NCAA Division II Barton College. Logan also was an assistant men's and women's track and field/cross country coach at Division I UNC Greensboro in fall 2021. Most recently at Barton, Logan's athletes broke school records in the indoor 5,000-meter and the outdoor 10,000-meter. He also coached the Division II Conference Carolinas individual champion in the 1,500-meter run and the runner-up in the 800-meter run.

In addition to collegiate coaching experience, Logan was the cross country head coach and distance head coach for track and field at Page High School in Greensboro, North Carolina, from 2018-2021, earning Metro 4A Conference Coach of the Year in 2019 and 2020. Before coaching at Page, he helped coach track and cross country for one season at Carrboro High School in 2017. At the high school level, Logan coached one individual state champion and multiple all-state selections while guiding his team to multiple conference team championships and state qualifiers.

Logan began his collegiate running career at Division I DePaul University under coach Pat Savage before finishing at NAIA Olivet Nazarene University under coach Mike McDowell. While at Olivet Nazarene, he was a part of the NAIA national championship runner-up team finish in 2013. He also earned Academic All-America honors during his collegiate career. A native of Dixion, Illinois, Logan was the 2008 Illinois state champion in high school.

Logan earned his bachelor's degree in political science/history from Olivet Nazarene in 2014. He also received his Master of Theological Studies from Duke University in 2016. In addition, he received his USA Track and Field Level II coaching certificate in 2022.

Logan joins the YHC family, along with his wife Annie and sons Callum, Lakelan and Noah.
