Sam Davis finished her third year as an assistant coach for for the Young Harris College softball team. The Mountain Lions earned a berth in the Conference Carolinas Championship and had four players named All-Conference, with Grace Young also landing on the D2CCA All-Southeast Region Team.
In 2024, assistant coach Sam Davis played a key role in guiding the Mountain Lions through Conference Carolinas competition, culminating in an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Championship, where the team battled through three games. Young Harris wrapped up the season with a 29-24 overall record and a 15-9 mark in league play. With Davis on the coaching staff, Grace Young (First Team), Gracie Hughes (Second Team), and Addie Heal (All-Defensive) earned spots on the Conference Carolinas All-Conference teams.
Davis is no stranger to the Enchanted Valley as she pitched for the Mountain Lions for three seasons, winning 18 games in 55 appearances (31 starts). She compiled a 3.98 earned-run average with 10 complete games, six saves and two complete games. Davis recorded 188 strikeouts in 186.2 innings of work. She was named to the Peach Belt Conference's Pitcher of the Week twice in her career.
Davis, who earned her bachelor's degree in mathematics in 2021, was named to was twice named to the PBC Softball Team of Academic Distinction and was named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll three times. She also earned the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award twice in her career.
Prior to YHC, Davis played softball at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for two seasons where won 21 games with 306 strikeouts. She was named to the all-conference and all-region teams in 2019.
