YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | The Young Harris College Women's lacrosse team has been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognition for the 2025-26 academic year from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

"Championships happen in the classroom too," said Young Harris College Vice President for Athletics and Student Engagement Emily Carella. "So proud of this team."

In addition to the team honor, eight Mountain Lions were named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll: Ella Clifford, McKenna Graf, Hayden Hennessy, Kayla Lynn, Megan Magill, Riley Parker, Alyssa Rosenfeld, and Mary Troyer.

"One of the things I'm most proud of as a coach is seeing our players succeed outside of competition," said Young Harris College Women's Lacrosse Head Coach Christine Hatton. "These honors reflect countless hours of dedication in the classroom and a genuine commitment to making the most of their experience as student-athletes. Congratulations to our entire team and to the eight Mountain Lions recognized individually. They have set a tremendous example of what it means to represent Young Harris College with excellence both academically and athletically."

The IWLCA Academic Honor Squad recognizes collegiate women's lacrosse programs that post a team GPA of 3.2 or higher during the academic year. To qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be juniors, seniors, or graduate students and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Young Harris tied for the most individuals recognized on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, matching the University of Mount Olive with its eight honorees.
