Young Harris Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA Academic Honors

1/30/2026 9:00:00 AM

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College men's and women's cross country were recognized by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as All-Academic Teams for the fall 2025 season, highlighting the Mountain Lions' continued excellence in the classroom.

To earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, programs must post a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period, while also competing at their respective NCAA Regional Championship. Both Young Harris programs met those standards, joining a select group of Conference Carolinas teams recognized nationally.

In addition to the team accolades, four Young Harris Men's Cross Country student-athletes earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction. Austin Dezwart, Noah MasonXander Potter, and Aidan Vrazel each met the rigorous criteria, which requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and a top-30 percent finish at their regional championship meet.

The academic recognition underscores Young Harris cross country's commitment to success both on the course and in the classroom (led by Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Matt Logan), continuing the department's tradition of producing well-rounded student-athletes.
