The Mountain Lions continue their reign in the conference after securing two wins against the North Greenville Trailblazers. Young Harris pushes the Trailblazers down to the #5 spot in Conference Carolinas while maintaining the #3 position with a 10-5 conference record and a 21-9 overall record. Mount Olive holds the #1 spot in the conference, making them a formidable opponent not to be taken lightly. The Trojans currently boast an 11-4 conference record and a 20-10 overall record.
On a national level, both teams continue to earn recognition for their performances, with Young Harris ranked #17 and the University of Mount Olive ranked #19 by D2 Baseball.
Both YHC and UMO feature standout players who have propelled their teams to the top of the conference rankings. The Mountain Lions' OF Luke Hatcher and pitcher Austin Richie are key contributors. Hatcher commands the plate with a .305 batting average, 33 RBI, and 8 home runs. Richie continues to shine on the mound with a 3.99 ERA, 24 strikeouts, and a .276 opponent batting average.
UMO has been a powerhouse in the conference thanks to their top talents. Key players to watch include first baseman Jon Howard and pitcher John Horton. Howard dominates at the plate with a .380 batting average, 33 RBI, and 9 home runs. Horton is a force on the mound with a 2.87 ERA, 28 strikeouts, and a .201 opponent batting average.
