YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Senior outside hitter Abby Schirm led the Mountain Lions to two Conference Carolinas victories last week, showcasing her dominance on the court. Young Harris defeated Erskine and Belmont Abbey College, winning two of three matches. Schirm led both teams in kills and points in all three contests, totaling 60 kills, 64.5 points, 47 digs, four assists, and three service aces. She maintained an impressive .304 hitting percentage across the matches, playing a pivotal role in each battle. Her consistent excellence and leadership earned her Mountain Lion of the Week honors.
Filip Zander continued his stellar season as the Mountain Lions remained unbeaten through eleven matches. In Saturday's 10-1 rout of Erskine College, Zander delivered a standout performance, scoring three goals and adding three assists in just 41 minutes of play. He fired off seven shots on goal, contributing 12 points on the day and helping Young Harris record two hat tricks in a single match, a rare feat. Zander's explosive impact and efficiency have earned him Mountain Lion of the Week recognition.
