GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas has unveiled its 2024 Fall Scholar-Athletes of the Year Presented by Hudl.
The Scholar-Athlete awards Presented by Hudl are awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference.
The Conference Carolinas Fall Scholar-Athletes of the Year Presented by Hudl represents an impressive five different member institutions.
Sacha De Corte graduated from Young Harris College this December with a major in Management. Sacha posted a 3.81 GPA this Fall semester, earning this prestigious athletic and academic award. Reigning from Vlezenbeek, Belgium, De Corte has won many on field awards, but this marks his first academic award. Sacha has twice been named to the Conference Carolinas All-Conference men's soccer team.
During his three-year playing career in the Enchanted Valley, Sacha De Corte started in all 49 matches played for a grand total of 4,242 minutes played on the pitch. Sacha added four goals and one assist as the epitome of a lockdown defender for the good guys in purple. While playing, De Corte helped the Mountain Lions reach the Peach Belt Conference Tournament (2022), and the Conference Carolinas Tournament (2023 and 2024). The 2024 season being the most successful, Young Harris won the Southwest Division and made it all the way to the Semifinals.
