PEMBROKE, Nc. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team had their three-game win streak snapped by the undefeated (in Conference Carolinas matches) Braves. In the noon kick-off match on Saturday (Oct. 5). The Braves pressured the Mountain Lions hard for the majority of the match. The only two goals scored came from UNC Pembroke within the first nine minutes. The Mountain Lions would attack often but could not put one past the Braves goalkeeper.

"We had our moments on the day, some bad and some good. We couldn't capitalize on the good ones and unfortunately conceded on the bad ones. Definitely not the result we wanted, but we will continue to work hard and make the adjustments to get the results we need moving forward!"

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: 

• UNC Pembroke ripped off 24 shots, with 12 on target. 

• Mercy Bell and Eugenie Amidou scored the two goals for the Braves. 

• Mckenna Peaster faced 12 shots and recorded 10 saves in a great performance to keep the Mountain Lions in the match. 

• The Mountain Lions played a lot of defense in the match, firing off 11 shots with six on goal. 

• YHC committed 12 fouls to the Braves' six. 

• UNC Pembroke had seven corner kicks, while the Mountain Lions had just two. 

• Braves goalkeeper, Anna Bass, recorded six saves to earn the shutout.
