YOUNG HARRIS, GA. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team finished the Wednesday (Sept. 6) afternoon non-conference match against Carson-Newman University with a 3-3 draw. The Mountain Lions move to 1-1-1, while the Eagles move to 1-0-2.
YHC returns to action at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Sunday (Sept. 10) with a 4 p.m. contest against the University of North Georgia for the Battle of Blood Mountain.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Young Harris took a 1-0 lead just nine minutes into the match with a header by Chloe Schmidhuber for the goal and assisted by Justice Colburn.
- Carson-Newman answered back with a goal to tie it up at one just after the 18 minute mark.
- The Mountain Lions take the lead 2-1, with another Schmidhuber goal assisted by Maya Cramer and Colburn off a free kick.
- The Eagles add two goals within the last five minutes of the 1st period to take a 3-2 lead going into the half.
- YHC scores the final goal of the match on a long ball off the foot of Cassidy Campbell.
- McKenna Peaster recorded 10 saves in goal for Young Harris.
