YOUNG HARRIS, GA. Saad Maziane and
Charlie Wilde come up big for the Mountain Lions, each with a goal this evening in the Battle of Blood Mountain (Sept. 10
th). In a close game with the Nighthawks, the Mountain Lions come out on top 2-1.
The Mountain Lions move to 1-2-1 overall and remain 0-0-0 in Conference Carolinas, and the Nighthawks move to 2-3-0 overall and remain 0-0-0 in the PBC. YHC returns to action at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field this Saturday (Sept. 16
th) vs Emmanuel at 4:30pm.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Saad Maziane scores the first goal for the Mountain Lions (13:18) by heading one in the back of the net off a corner kick.
- Charlie Wilde scores an unassisted goal in the second half for YHC (68:16), advancing the Mountain Lions 2-0 over the Nighthawks.
- Tyler Vitelli added a goal late for UNG (76:49), assisted by Aram Lara. The Nighthawks still trailed 1-2.
- Both goalkeepers Stathis Paplomatos and Hazel Ley each had 3 saves.
- Young Harris outshot the Nighthawks 12-8, and led them in corner kicks 5-3.
