YOUNG HARRIS, GA. | The Young Harris College men's soccer team and Belmont Abbey College finish in a 1-1 draw at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon. YHC moves to 9-3-5 overall and 8-0-4 in Conference Carolinas while the Crusaders move to 10-4-3 and 8-2-2.
Prior to the match Young Harris recognized their seven seniors:
Roger Contreras,
Saad Maziane,
Quinn Thompson,
Pato Padilla,
Joel Whittingham, Riccardo Sambugara, and
Alexsi Morel for their accomplishments.Â
The Mountain Lions return to action Saturday, November 4th against the winner of #6 and #7Â in the second round of the Conference Carolinas Tournament at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field- the time will be determined.Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Crusaders and Mountain Lions each score the only goals of the game with under 10 minutes of play in the second half.
- Maziane scores the lone YHC goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the second half of play off a Sambugaro assist.Â
- YHC had a strong defensive line holding BAC to only two shots on goal compared to YHC's five.Â
- Stathis Paplomatos recorded one save for YHC.Â
