YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College and Flagler College battled to a 1-1 draw in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday (Sept. 10) afternoon at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.
The Mountain Lions improved to 1-1-2 overall and to 0-0-1 in the Peach Belt, while the Saints fell to 2-1-1 and 1-0-1. YHC travels to Dahlonega, Georgia, Wednesday (Sept. 14) for a 7:30 p.m. PBC contest against its Blood Mountain rival University of North Georgia.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Flagler took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute on a Jared Fuentes goal off a Marc Birkelund assist.
- The Mountain Lions equalized the match 10 minutes later as Sergio Llopart score. Llopart collected a loose ball deep in the box near the left post and slotted the ball in the back of the net.
- The Saints outshot the Mountain Lions 16-8, but only held a 4-3 margin on goal.
- Stathis Paplomatos stopped three shots in goal for YHC.
