AMERICUS, Ga. | Young Harris College concluded the 2021 season with a 5-2 Peach Belt Conference women's tennis victory over Georgia Southwestern State University Sunday (April 18) afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.

The Mountain Lions improved to 2-13 overall and to 1-7 in the Peach Belt, while the Hurricanes fell to 4-8 and 0-8.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

• Young Harris took a 1-0 lead after earning the doubles point. Zoe Freke and Catarina Marcko Ferreira claimed a 6-3 win at No. 2, while Fatima Murphy and Rilee Marler took a 6-4 victory at No. 3.
• The Hurricanes won the first two singles matches to take a 2-1 lead.
• Jing Dong evened the match at 2 as she won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2.
• Freke and Juli Boerr also claimed singles wins, but Marcko Ferreira cliched the match with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 5 singles.
