YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Two hundred one Young Harris College student-athletes were recently recognized for having a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the Fall 2020 semester.
The 201 student-athletes represent 66 percent of the overall student-athlete population at Young Harris. Women's lacrosse had the highest female team GPA at 3.42, while men's tennis had the highest male team GPA at 3.44. Thirteen teams - men's tennis, women's lacrosse, volleyball, women's soccer, men's soccer, men's cross country, softball, jv men's soccer, women's golf, men's golf, jv women's soccer, jv softball and baseball - posted team GPAs above a 3.0.
The Mountain Lions also had 19 student-athletes who received a perfect 4.0 for the Fall 2020 semester. They are Rome Wallace (baseball), Olivia Tucker (women's basketball), Naomi Blankemeyer (competitive cheerleading), Heather Shull (competitive cheerleading), Kiera Lewis (women's cross country/jv women's soccer), Morgan Kasel (women's soccer), Pien Van Kampen (women's soccer), Britt Verstegen (women's soccer), Abby Peacock (jv women's soccer), Alex Boydstone (volleyball), Kristen Trice (volleyball), Luke Surowiec (men's cross country), Alex Schiltz (men's tennis), Hannah Emerson (jv softball), Haylie Shope (softball), Katelynn Hodges (softball), Gwenyth Gibbons (women's lacrosse), Taylor Greenberg (women's lacrosse), and Leigh Anne Turner (women's lacrosse).
