CENTRAL, S.C. | Southern Wesleyan University edged Young Harris College 4-3 in a non-conference women's tennis victory Saturday (Feb. 27) afternoon at the Rev Leroy C Cox Tennis Complex.
The Warriors improved to 2-2, while the Mountain Lions fell to 1-4.
Young Harris took a 1-0 lead as they claimed the doubles points with wins in the second and third flights.
Southern Wesleyan took a 3-1 lead after wins in the third, fifth and first flights of singles before
Leanna Wood's 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6 pulled YHC within a point at 3-2. The Warriors clinched the match with a win at No. 4 before
Juli Boerr won 6-2, 6-2 claimed the final point at No. 2 singles.
