Mountain Lions fall to Lakers 1-0 in double OT

MORROW, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team concluded their 2021 season Saturday (Oct. 30) evening as they fell 1-0 to Clayton State University in a double overtime match at Laker Field.

The Lakers improve to 6-6-1 overall and 6-3-0 in the Peach Belt Conference, while the Mountain Lions saw their campaign end at 5-8-0 and 2-7-0.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE: 
  • Reja Henry scored the golden goal for the Lakers off a ball from Moa Loftman and Paig Clemenson with 37 seconds to go in the match.
  • Clayton State outshot Young Harris 17-10 and had a 9-3 edge in corner kicks. 
  • Pien Van Kampen recorded eight saves in goal for the Mountain Lions. 
  • Elicia Mulvaney recorded four shots and Morgan Kasel recorded two for the Mountain Lions.
  • Britt Verstegen, Anika Elias, Brooke Morrison, and Ren Whitley each recorded one shot.
