YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | No. 18 Young Harris College swept a non-conference softball doubleheader from Mars Hill University Wednesday (Feb. 27) afternoon at E.D. Rivers Field.

Young Harris improved to 10-4, while Mars Hill fell to 7-3. The Mountain Lions hit the road for a 4 p.m. doubleheader Thursday (Feb. 28) against Tusculum University in Greenville, Tennessee.
Dara Moore opened the scoring in game one for Young Harris as she drew a walk with the bases loaded.
Jill Torres hit a two RBI single to make it a 3-0 game for the Mountain Lions in the third.

Haylie Shope made it a 7-0 lead for Young Harris with her first home run of the season to center field.
Nikkie Kovalsky (8-3) picked up her first win of the day as she pitched a complete game giving up six hits and striking out nine.
Botti went 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI, while Torres tallied a hit, two RBI, and a run scored. Shope collected a hit, one RBI, and two runs scored. Lizardi had one hit, one RBI, and a run scored, while Moore had one RBI and a run scored.
Casey Stanek (3-1) earned the loss for the Lions as she gave up five runs on four hits with three walks in 2.2 innings pitched.
Mars Hill struck first in game two with a two run homer to left field by Hannah Smith in the first inning. Ashley Collins and Ragan Broome each had a RBI in the second inning to make it a 4-0 lead over Young Harris.
Maddie Urquiola put the Mountain Lions on the board in the third inning with a double to left center that scored Botti.
Rigsbee singled to right field that brought Urquiola home to start the scoring of a three run sixth inning for Young Harris.
Morgan Curley hit a RBI single and Torres drew a bases-loaded walk to cut the MHU's lead to 5-4.
