DAHLONEGA, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's soccer team fell to No. 18 University of North Georgia 3-0 in the quarterfinal match of the Peach Belt Conference tournament Tuesday (Nov. 12) evening at the UNG Soccer Complex.
The Nighthawks improved to 15-2-1, while the Mountain Lions fell to 6-11-0. North Georgia advances to the semifinal round Friday (Nov. 15) afternoon against the winner of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and Clayton State University.
Katey Derkay scored the first goal for the Nighthawks in the fifth minute after collecting her own rebound to put the ball in the left side of the net from eight yards out.
Taylor Malasek and Maysoon El-Shami added goals in the last ten minutes of the match to give North Georgia a 3-0 lead.
Morgan Ramby tallied six saves in goal for the Nighthawks, while
Pien Van Kampen had nine between the pipes for the Mountain Lions.
