Balanced attack leads Mountain Lions past Georgia College 3-0

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.  |  Aimee Durn scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season for Young Harris College en route to a 3-0 victory over Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Wednesday (Oct. 23) evening at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field. 

The Mountain Lions improved to 6-6-0 overall and 5-2-0 in the PBC, while the Bobcats fell to 3-7-2 and 2-3-1. Young Harris travels to Aiken, South Carolina, Saturday (Oct. 26) for a 7 p.m. PBC contest against the University of South Carolina-Aiken.

Durn scored the first goal for the Mountain Lions in the 31st minute as she sent a rocket from 35 yards out just out of reach of the Georgia College goalkeeper. 

Lailah Muscat added insurance in the 63rd minute with her third goal of the season with a header into the back right of the net after a corner kick from Hannah Behner. Eline Sand made it a 3-0 game for Young Harris just 2:13 later at the 65:06 mark after she collected her own rebound and sent the ball into the back of the net. 

Pien Van Kampen picked up her second consecutive shutout and fourth of the season with nine saves between the pipes for the Mountain Lions. Kate Richardson and Haley Titus split time in goal for the Bobcats and recorded two saves.
