GREENWOOD, S.C. | The Young Harris College softball team used four home runs to sweep a Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader from Lander University Sunday (April 10) afternoon at Doug Spears Field.

The 16th-ranked Mountain Lions got home runs from
Hannah Harrison and
Grace Botti to edge the Bearcats 3-2 in the opener before Young Harris rode two long balls from
Sarah Magill to pick up a 6-1 decision in the nightcap.

The Mountain Lions improved to 31-15 overall and finished with a 17-7 ledger in the Peach Belt. The 17 PBC wins are the most in the program's history while the 31 wins ties the mark for the most wins in a season in the NCAA era. Young Harris wraps up its regular season with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, Georgia. Lander fell to 23-19 and 9-11.

Young Harris took a 2-0 lead in the first game as Harrison smacked a two-run homer to right center. It was her fifth of the 2016 campaign.
Toni Perrucci started the inning by reaching on a single to center.

Lander tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the inning, but Young Harris reclaimed the lead 3-2 in the top of the fourth on Botti's leadoff homer to left-center field. It was her third of the season.

Murphy Davis, Magill and
Lindsay Tudor contributed hits in game one for the Mountain Lions, who had six total.

Lander struck first in game two as they scored in the bottom of the first. Young Harris tied the game at 1 an inning later on Magill's first homer of the day as she led off with a blast to center.

Young Harris took a 4-1 lead in the fifth as Magill, who had nine homers on the year, clubbed a three-run shot to left field with two outs.
Jeanie Perrucci led off with a single and Botti reached on a walk.

The Mountain Lions added two insurance runs in the sixth to open up a 6-1 lead.
Jeanie Perrucci had an RBI infield single while Botti knocked in the other as she was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Jeanie Perrucci had three of the 11 hits Young Harris had in game two. Magill and
Rachel Benson had two apiece for the Mountain Lions.

Darby Stanford (24-4) picked up both wins in the circle for the Mountain Lions. She had 10 strikeouts in the complete-game effort in game one and added seven more in six innings of relief in game two.
